Working with us

What area does HammerSnake Paints serve?

HammerSnake Paints is based in Hershey, PA and serves homes and businesses within about 100 miles, including Harrisburg, Hummelstown, Palmyra, Lebanon, Middletown, Elizabethtown, Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg, Carlisle, Lancaster and York.

Do you give free estimates?

Yes. We give free written estimates. Call (717) 864-5769 to set a time, and we will look at the job, measure, and send a price that lists what is included.

What paint brands do you use?

We use Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore paint lines. The specific product depends on the surface: interior walls, trim, cabinets, exterior siding or decks each get a product made for that job.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. Our work comes with a two-year written workmanship warranty. If paint we applied peels or fails because of our workmanship in that time, we come back and fix it.

How do you protect my home while you paint?

We cover floors with canvas drop cloths, cover furniture with plastic, mask fixtures and remove switch plates. Outside, we lay ground covers to catch paint chips. We clean up at the end of every working day.

Do I need to be home while you paint?

No. Many customers give us a key or a door code. We walk through the job with you on the first day and again at the end.

How should I prepare before the painters arrive?

Take small items, wall art and breakables off walls and shelves. Make sure we have access to outlets and water. For exteriors, trim back plants touching the house if you can. We handle moving and covering furniture.

Can you help me choose paint colors?

Yes. We can bring color decks, recommend combinations that suit your house, and paint sample patches on the wall so you can see them in your own light before deciding.

Interior Painting

How much does it cost to paint a room in Hershey, PA?

The price of painting a room depends on its size, ceiling height, how much repair the walls need, and whether trim and ceilings are included. We give a free written estimate after seeing the room, with the price broken out by room so you can choose what to include.

How long does it take to paint the inside of a house?

A single bedroom usually takes one day. A full interior of an average Central PA home usually takes three to seven working days, depending on size, repairs and how many colors are involved. We give you a schedule with the estimate.

Exterior Painting

How much does it cost to paint a house exterior in Pennsylvania?

Exterior painting cost depends mainly on the size and height of the house, the siding material, how much scraping and wood repair is needed, and how many trim details there are. We visit, measure and give you a free written estimate with the prep work spelled out.

How long does exterior paint last in Pennsylvania?

A well-prepped exterior paint job with quality acrylic paint typically lasts about 7 to 10 years on wood siding in Central Pennsylvania. South and west-facing walls fade and wear faster because of sun exposure. Trim and horizontal surfaces usually need attention first.

Cabinet Refinishing

How much does it cost to paint kitchen cabinets near Hershey?

Cabinet painting is priced mainly by the number of doors and drawer fronts, plus boxes, islands and trim. Grain filling on oak and painting cabinet interiors add cost. It usually comes in well below the cost of new cabinets. We give a free written estimate after counting doors on site.

How long does cabinet painting take?

Most kitchens take about one to two weeks from removal to reinstall, depending on size. You can usually still use your kitchen during the work, with the cabinet boxes open while the doors are being finished.

Commercial Painting

Do you paint commercial buildings after business hours?

Yes. We schedule evenings and weekends for offices, stores and restaurants so the work does not interrupt customers or staff.

Do you paint rental properties between tenants?

Yes. We do tenant turnovers for landlords and property managers, and we keep a record of colors and products so later touch-ups match.

Deck Staining

How often should a deck be stained in Pennsylvania?

Most decks in Central Pennsylvania need restaining every two to three years on the floor boards, depending on sun exposure and the type of stain. Railings and vertical surfaces usually last longer.

When is the best time to stain a deck in Central PA?

Late spring and early fall are ideal: dry weather, moderate temperatures and no direct midday heat baking the stain. The wood should be dry and no rain expected for at least 24 hours after staining.
